Stedman Graham Joins Global Teaching Project Advisory Board

Entrepreneur Stedman Graham, who works to promote educational opportunities for underserved students across the United States and around the world, has joined the Global Teaching Project’s Advisory Board.

Stedman Graham has worked for more than thirty years writing books, working with corporations, schools, and communities, teaching in universities, supporting nonprofits, and speaking to audiences nationally and internationally.

The author of 12 books, including two New York Times best sellers and one Wall Street Journal bestseller, Mr. Graham lectures and conducts leadership training programs for corporations and educational organizations worldwide.

Stedman Graham has worked closely with GTP for several years, implementing his Identity Leadership program to help students excel in AP STEM courses. Mr. Graham has traveled to rural Mississippi communities served by GTP, conducting programs for educators and students in some of the state’s highest-need communities. Mr. Graham also has conducted many virtual workshops with GTP students over the past several years.

Identity Leadership is self-leadership based on the philosophy that you cannot lead others until you first lead yourself. This personal and professional development program empowers the individual through an actionable Nine Step Success Process, which is a proven life management and learning system that teaches you how to organize your life around who you are and to propel you forward to achieve life goals. Now, more than any other time, we as leaders need to be self-learners who are responsible for our work and accountable to the families, organizations and communities we serve.

Mr. Graham stated, “I have seen, in person, the great work that the Global Teaching Project does to help students who have the ability to excel, but not the opportunity.  I look forward to collaborating even more closely with GTP to advance our common goal of expanding the educational opportunity those students need.”

Matt Dolan, Global Teaching Project CEO, stated, “We are delighted to welcome Stedman Graham to our Advisory Board.  He has been a great resource for our program and our students.  By developing the skills our students need to succeed, he has helped equip them to deal effectively with a rigorous STEM curriculum.”

The Global Teaching Project provides promising students in rural, high-poverty communities access to advanced STEM courses they need to achieve their full potential, but which their schools otherwise cannot offer, due to limited resources and a chronic, and worsening, shortage of qualified teachers.
