
Coming Up: MLK 2026 Advanced STEM Winter Program
Jackson, Mississippi | January 16–18, 2026
In partnership with Jackson State University, the Global Teaching Project will host the Advanced STEM Winter Program over MLK weekend—marking the 97th birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Now in its 9th year, the Advanced STEM Access Program brings rigorous STEM opportunities to high-achieving high school students, especially from rural communities—advancing the same ideal we honor this weekend: equal opportunity for all.
Students will explore Jackson’s pivotal role in the civil rights movement through visits to:
- Mississippi Civil Rights Museum
- Mississippi State Capitol
- Jackson State University
